Built in the early 1920's, this Spanish-Californian building is a registered California landmark, one of the only two in downtown San Mateo. The interior was designed by the acclaimed restaurant designer, Pat Kuleto. At Ristorante Capellini our guests can choose to dine in any of our four distinctive dining areas: the main dining room, the mezzanine, the counter, and the wine cellar.

"One reason Ristorante Capellini continues to draw a crowd is the interior, designed by Pat Kuleto in his trademark style- dark and moody with gorgeous wood illuminated under unusual lighting fixtures that cast a golden glow."
-Maria Cianci, San Francisco Chronicle

The Wine Cellar

For a more personal dining experience try our downstairs wine cellar, lined with rich woods and mirrors it is the perfect place for a private party or intimate dinner for two.

The Bar

The San Fransisco Chronicle nominated Ristorante Capellini's bar as a top choice for an after work meeting place. A lively atmosphere and an extensive selection of liquors and wines makes for a nice addition to the restaurant and a pleasant place to gather before dinner.
